Coastal Hills Rural Preservation (CHRP) is a group of citizens working to retain the integrity of rural Sonoma County, California. We want to protect our rural resources from inappropriate land use and we support our General Plan. We invite you to join us in addressing an important land- use issue in our community that can set precedents and have permanent impacts on rural areas throughout the county.
September 12, 2013:
CHRP is still waiting for a hearing date with the Board of Supervisors to appeal the Board of Zoning Adjustment's 2012 decision to let Dharma Press have unlimited book production and over 60,000 square feet of factory space.
PLEASE ASK THE SONOMA COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS TO DENY USE PERMIT PLP08-0021, AND REQUIRE RATNA LING RETREAT CENTER TO MOVE THE DHARMA PUBLISHING PRINTING FACILITY TO LAND ZONED FOR INDUSTRIAL USE. (The Retreat Center can continue to operate as permitted under the terms of their 2004 Use Permit UPE04-0032.)

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Sonoma County, CA Board of Zoning Adjustments.
I urge you to deny Ratna Ling Retreat Center and Dharma Publishing's application for a new Use Permit, PLP08-0021, and further require that the printing operation be moved away from an RRD Zone (to land zoned for industrial use.) The retreat center can continue to operate as a retreat under their 2004 use permit.
